Moved to Montreal, Canada to pursue studies at the post secondary level. Accepted on Scholarship (Department of the Secretary of State of Canada) by the University of Ottawa for studies in the French Language in 1992. Successfully completed the program that same year. Enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces at the Royal Montreal Regiment (infantry) for general military training. Upon honorable release was awarded a Certificate of Service. Graduated from Dawson College in 1994, receiving a diploma of Collegial Studies in Social Sciences. Completed studies at Concordia University in 1998, were in conjunction with the School of Community and Public Affairs, earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science with specialization in international politics and in Policy Making Process in the private, public and community sectors. Pursued a MSc degree in Public Policy and Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. Currently pursuing a Master in Public Policy, Administration and Law (MPPAL) at York University.
In the professional realm, Mr. Moussas has offered his services to numerous governmental agencies (both provincial and federal), companies, NGO’s and multilateral/international organizations, including the United Nations, World Bank and IMF. Also, was employed by the Government of Canada at the Ministry of Defense (1992-1993), the Hellenic Republic at the Consulate General of Greece in Montreal (June 1997 - January 2001) and the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto (February 2001 – February 2007).
In June of 1999 founded Integrated Consulting Services (ICS), a privately owned and managed Consulting Firm, specializing in the provision of Greek Language Consulting Services, such as translation, interpretation, document production and writing. Member of the Ordre des Τraducteurs, Terminologues et Ιnterprètes Αgréés du Québec (OTTIAQ), the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO), the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) and the Association of American Translators (ATA). Presently, employed by the Word Council for Hellenes Abroad (SAE) as the Executive Director of the Canada Regional Office (April 2007 – present). Actively involved in the Greek Community of Toronto, and responsible for organizing many events promoting the Greek language, arts, heritage and culture. Past activities include the founding of the Greek Student Association of Dawson College, where he served as member of the Executive Council (1993-1994). Served as President of the Greek Student Association of Concordia University (1995-1996) and an ex-officio member of the Executive Council of the Hellenic Congress of Quebec and the Hellenic Canadian Congress.
