As you already know, pursuant to Law 3480/2006 Canada constitutes a new SAE region as of January 1st 2007. In my capacity as Coordinator, I am greatly pleased and honored to welcome you to our new website, created to facilitate direct information and communication with all members and friends of our Region.
Since it assumed its duties, the 5-member Canada Region Coordinating Council has been working very hard in order to

implement the mission of the Organization, as set out in article 108 par.2 of the Hellenic Constitution, and to serve the needs of Hellenism in Canada.
SAE is an advisory, consultative and supportive body to the Hellenic State, and formulates justified claims in the context of its mission, which consists in representing the forces of Hellenism worldwide. Through the combined work of its Regions and the goals it has established, SAE tries to promote national issues and find practical and viable solutions to all problems facing the Greek Diaspora.
By opening its new Office and now introducing this website, the Canada Region Coordinating Council declares its dynamic presence in this effort and promises to keep up the fight for the common vision.
Our new website will provide information to all visitors about SAE’s activity and work both in Canada and in the rest of the world, as well as for all kinds of community events in major Canadian cities with a strong Greek presence.
Through this website users will be able to learn about and participate in programs supported by SAE and the NGO “DESMOS”, and will also have access to information concerning favorable provisions of Greek legislation concerning the Diaspora. The purpose of this website is to establish a communication channel between people who have common interests and wish to contribute to Greece and Greek Diaspora through SAE.
We hope that this internet site will become your link with SAE and its Regions, a place where you will be able to express your own concerns and become a part of the great Greek Diaspora family
Kostas Menegakis
